"Born in Macclesfield and growing up in a weaver’s cottage, both of my parents worked in the textile industry. Researching the textile industry in my hometown, I grew interested in the ‘invisible’ history of Kashmiri immigration to the town. Industrialists from the North West also visited India and Kashmir to seek industry knowledge and inspiration. The contribution of Kashmiri immigrants in the Macclesfield is largely forgotten."
