We are delighted to announce our forthcoming exhibition; 'Form & Figure: Bodies of Art', curated by Dr. Zehra Jumabhoy. The exhibition features the work of three figurative artists; Faiza Butt, Ali Kazim and Salman Toor, and runs from 11 - 26 June 2020.
The exhibition is a collaboration with Canvas Gallery in Karachi and will open with an all-day view from 10am - 7pm on Thursday 11 June. That day there will also be a Zoom session, which will include a panel discussion with the artists, curator and director of Canvas Gallery, Sameera Raja, at 4pm GMT.
Please note: To view the works in person before the 15 June you will need to make an appointment.
'The artists have been selected because of the unique ways in which their works - operating from diverse social and national contexts as well as painting traditions - nevertheless share pictorial territory. While Butt is based in London, Toor in New York and Kazim in Lahore, their paintings explore the human form; probing ideas of the body, desire, masculinity and representations of alterity. The exhibition will consist of specially commissioned work that negotiates the tension between figuration, form and abstraction in contemporary Pakistani art.'
