At Abu Dhabi Art we will be exhibiting paintings by South Asian modernists, including MF Husain, Zahoor ul Akhlaq, Sadequain, Abdur Rahman Chughtai, Ismail Gulgee and Anna Molka Ahmed. We will also be showing a new installation by Rasheed Araeen.
The gallery has also now represents the Estate of the groudbreaking conceptual artist Imran Mir (1950-2014). We will be exhibiting paintings from the 1970s and 1990s.
We will also be exhibiting work from the 1960s by pioneering Iraqi optical artist Hashim Samarchi (b.1939). Smarachi was a critical part of the development of Iraqi modernism in the 1960s and 1970s, but retired from his practice in the early 2000s. This will be the first time a collection of his work has been exhibited in the Middle East for several decades. Click here to visit the dedicated page.
