Araeen’s 2018 work 'Mayz' has been created to be used as a functional piece of furniture. It follows in a long tradition of the artist encouraging interaction with his sculptures, such as with his iconic multi-cube installation ‘Zero to Infinity’, ‘The Reading Room’ and more recently at his restaurant Shamiyaana, opened in London in 2019.
Based on his 1967 creation Chaar Yaar (Four Friends), the work uses the primary colours and Araeen’s minimalist open structures to create an iteration of his earlier work.
