Priyantha’s works have been greatly influenced by his experience of conflict and political unrest in Sri Lanka from 1983 onwards. This exhibition marks Priyantha’s return to the UK after two years. The current body of works are a continuation of his previous series that contemplate the current political and social state of post-war Sri Lanka.

Muzzumil Ruheel
Lost in his own Garden

Date: 5 – 14 October 2016

Muzzumil Ruheel was born in 1985 in Lahore, Pakistan, and is currently living and working in Karachi, Pakistan. He was trained in the traditional art of Urdu, Arabic and Persian calligraphy before enrolling into art school. Text has been a very significant part of his work. It is the medium in which he visualises.
“For me, words are the bridges through which I communicate and transcribe the visuals of my mind, its like storytelling, where a storyteller tells a story and we create visuals in our minds. My practice too is the same”.

The Writer’s Eye is part of a travellingexhibition of photographs which has already been exhibited at Sunaparanta: Goa Centre for the Arts and Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi in March 2016

The exhibition is curated by bestselling writer and Sensorium Festival co-founder,Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi. The Writer’s Eye marks the public debut of a gifted visual artist.
